TIGERWOOD has ARRIVED, Thanks !!

Hi Tom,

The TIGERWOOD ship't arrived today.The trucking firm called yesterday, allowing me to coordinate the unloading with the help of my retired colleagues. [ I'm a ret'd High School Teacher ]

Every thing has worked out excellent. The 3 1/2" is as suitable as the 4" would have been.
Tom,---why can't many of those "other " transactions work as smoothly as this one has.

Your communication and sincere effort at trying to "get this thing done" efficiently, and to the satisfaction at both ends, is a template for the way internet orders should work !

I have extensive experience with Online commerce and this transaction restores my confidence.

Hi Tom,

Well, you sure were right about the lengths of the Jatoba.

The installer said they were perfect as he started the job. He said you don't want longer boards because they warp sometimes. He said the lengths were just right. He does upscale houses much larger than mine. He spent 5 working days for my 1900 or so square feet.

Both my daughter Becky and Ken, my neighbor, saw the job in process. My daughter said the floor was more beautiful because of the varying wood grains than it would have been with longer boards. Its more like a quilt that way. She's in Art school, so beauty is her specialty. Ken listened to the story about my almost returning the wood to you and he said I would have been crazy to send it back. He just finished re-doing his own house and he's an appraiser, so he is knowlegeable and sensitive to finish quality.

Our designer is coming from Irvine (Southern California, we are in the SF Bay area) on Wednesday to complete our color schemes. I can't wait to see her face when she walks in the door.

We didn't use the very shortest boards except as necessary. The installer top-nailed some of them to the subfloor to use as locators. We did not do the living room, it will be carpeted, I think that was the right decision.

Here are some photos. I have many, many more. I can't wait to get furniture and rugs into the house, it will get better and better.

We purchased 3500 sq' of Brazilian Cherry flooring from you a few years back and have been delighted with the atmosphere it has given our new home. In the process of installing some of the appliances one of the contractors scratched the flooring in several places. The scratches appear to be in the protective surface of the flooring and not the actual wood. I'm not sure what the protective surface is made of which is the reason for this E-Mail. How do I remove these scratches and do you have the products I can buy to make these repairs. I also noticed that you have a floor refinisher product that rejuvenates the shine on the floor. Should I use this product on the Brazilian Cherry flooring I have? If I remember correctly the finish on this flooring is something different from polyurethane.

Your advice and recommendations are gratefully appreciated.

PS: we'll be building another custom home in about 5 years and you can be assured you'll get to order for all the flooring. Your service was outstanding on our last order and we tell everyone interested in flooring about you.

I'm mechanically inclined, but I had never attempted anything like putting in my own hardwood floor. My wife and I love the beauty and feel of hardwood, but installation costs were enormous. I searched all the local retailers, and all the online stores over a period of 2 months. Finally, I found Huron Hardwood Floors.com.

I am writing to thank-you for our wonderful hardwood floor and your follow-up service...

My husband and I deliberated about what type of flooring to put into our house when we renovated. With a young and very active toddler and a maniacal house dog and cat, we wanted something that would stand up to all the wear and tear, but not an unforgiving surface like ceramic.

We were dubious that any hardwood could stand up in our household, but we are so pleased with our Maple flooring from Huron Hardwood! Between our son running around with toys and food and our dog chasing the cat all over the house there is a lot of stress on the floor, but our hardwood is standing up to it wonderfully! And it is so easy to clean - we just Swiffer or vacuum as needed and damp mop every two weeks and it looks great and is germ, dust and smell free!

We heartily recommend hardwood to anyone looking for a better alternative to carpet, tile, vinyl and laminate.

Dear Huron Hardwood Floors,

When we began a complete renovation of our home several years ago, we dreamed of installing beautiful hardwood floors. We wanted wood since we both suffer from allergies, and we liked the fact that wood was a natural, renewable research. Wood was a great choice for our decorating theme-an eclectic and personal mix of northwoods and antique-but would adapt to other styles easily and add to the value of our home.

We searched in several local stores and mills, but the cost was prohibitive for our budget, so we thought our dream would never become a reality and we would settle for less than the best. My husband started internet shopping, and I'll admit-I was nervous! Then he told me that the company he chose was from Canada, and I was more nervous!

My husband talked with a representative of Huron Hardwoods named Brad and we soon received free samples in the mail. All of his questions were answered thoroughly, and the reps were always available by telephone or email. The website provided me with links for great info on easy care cleaning. I was also able to find information on decorating, placement and type of rugs, and care of the floor, while my husband found links for installation tips.

We decided on maple flooring, a renewable North American resource, which was an important decision for us since we are concerned for our environment. We wanted wood with some "character" to avoid the "gymnasium" look, and Brad helped us a great deal with our selection of grade for this purpose. We had the option of picking up the flooring or having it shipped via freight. We chose the freight and were able to be notified in advance of its arrival. The flooring arrived in excellent condition.

My husband prides himself on being thrifty, and we saved a considerable amount on the floor. It is the perfect option for the sub-floor heating system we've installed. Our purchase was easy, delivery was quick, and the quality of our floor was superb. And I can relax about our purchase-we chose the healthiest floor for a family with two youngsters as well as the floor which is healthiest for our environment.

The flooring material was great. Out of 1,000 sq feet, roughly 1800 pieces of wood, I only found 3 warped boards. Incredible quality control.

It looks so good that several of my neighbors now want to do the same thing.

It's a bit of a risk, buying $5,000 worth of material sight unseen over the internet but your friendly service and quality materials made the experience enjoyable.

I have just finished installing 1200sf of your rustic hard maple from the Heritage Collection and I am very pleased! Your company delivered my flooring on the date you said you would (only four days after I ordered it!)and the driver actually backed up right to my barn so that I wouldn't have to walk as far with the cartons. Also, I only came up with about 50 sq. ft. of waste out of the 1200 sq. ft. I ordered! Your quality control is doing a great job!

Having never put in hardwood flooring before, I downloaded your handy guide and used it for the install. Using it, I was able to complete all 1200 sq. ft. working by myself in just six days. All while my wife and three children were going about normal daily life around me.

Another point to consider is that I shopped around and found that I saved almost $600 with Huron Hardwood Floors.com over any other company. I looked for about 18 months online and around town before deciding on buying from Huron and boy am I glad! I will definitely spread the word about your company amongst my friends and family.

We got our new floor installed and I can't tell you how much I love it and your company! Our salesperson was Brad and if he ever had a skeptical, insecure customer, it was me! As a real estate broker and sales manager, I know how difficult some people can be, especially when you are dealing with a hands on type of person- Me! And here I was buying something I could neither see nor touch! Very hard yet Brad was nothing less than patient, kind and understanding every time we spoke, and believe me, I called A LOT!

Brad was so much more knowledgeable about hadwood flooring than any of the other numerous salespersons I spoke to.
